1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions constitute a legal agreement between you and meridiaoes for the provision of luxury car rental services in Singapore. By making a reservation, signing a rental agreement, or using our vehicles, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our services. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updates or modifications to these Terms.

2. Definitions

In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Service" or "Services" refers to all luxury car rental offerings provided by meridiaoes, including Harbour View Daily Rental, Island Hop Convertible, and Executive Marina Transfer
  • "User," "You," or "Your" refers to the individual or entity renting a vehicle from meridiaoes
  • "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to meridiaoes and its authorized representatives
  • "Vehicle" refers to any motor vehicle provided by meridiaoes under a rental agreement
  • "Rental Period" refers to the agreed-upon time during which you have possession of the Vehicle
  • "Agreement" refers to the rental agreement executed between you and meridiaoes, incorporating these Terms

3. Eligibility Requirements

To rent a vehicle from meridiaoes, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 25 years of age
  • Hold a valid driver's license for a minimum of 2 years
  • For international visitors, possess a valid International Driving Permit along with your home country license
  • Provide a valid form of identification (NRIC for Singapore residents, passport for foreign nationals)
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
  • Provide a valid credit card in your name for payment and security deposit purposes

We reserve the right to verify your identity and driving credentials before confirming any reservation.

4. Reservations and Booking

Reservations can be made through our website contact form, email, or phone. A reservation becomes binding when:

  • We receive your reservation request with all required information
  • We confirm vehicle availability for your requested dates
  • You provide valid payment information and authorization
  • We send you written confirmation of the reservation

Vehicle availability is subject to fleet status at the time of reservation. We make reasonable efforts to fulfill all confirmed reservations but cannot guarantee specific vehicle models. If your requested vehicle becomes unavailable, we will offer a comparable alternative.

5. Payment Terms

Payment terms for meridiaoes services include:

  • Rental Fees: The applicable rental rate as stated in your confirmation, payable in Singapore Dollars (SGD)
  • Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Cash payments may be arranged in advance
  • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required at the time of vehicle pickup. The amount varies by vehicle and rental duration
  • Fuel: Vehicles are provided with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. Failure to do so will result in refueling charges at prevailing rates plus a service fee
  • Additional Services: Any additional services requested during the rental period will be charged separately

All prices are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) as required under Singapore law.

6. Cancellation and Modification

Cancellations and modifications must be communicated in writing via email or through our contact form.

Cancellation by You:

  • More than 72 hours before rental start: Full refund of any payments made
  • 48-72 hours before rental start: 50% of rental fee retained
  • Less than 48 hours before rental start: No refund provided

Modification by You: Changes to dates, times, or vehicle selection are subject to availability and may incur rebooking fees.

Cancellation by Us: If we must cancel your reservation due to unforeseen circumstances, we will provide a full refund and make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative solution.

7. Vehicle Use and Restrictions

You agree to the following conditions regarding vehicle use:

Permitted Use:

  • Only the authorized driver(s) listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle
  • Use is limited to Singapore and designated areas as specified in your rental agreement
  • Vehicle must be used in accordance with Singapore traffic laws and regulations

Prohibited Activities:

  • Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances
  • Using the vehicle for any illegal purpose or commercial transportation
  • Allowing anyone not listed on the agreement to operate the vehicle
  • Participating in races, rallies, or driving competitions
  • Operating the vehicle recklessly or in a manner that damages the vehicle
  • Transporting hazardous materials or more passengers than vehicle capacity
  • Smoking in the vehicle
  • Taking the vehicle outside Singapore without prior written authorization

8. Insurance and Liability

All vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance as required under Singapore law. This insurance includes:

  • Third-party liability coverage
  • Collision damage coverage subject to deductible
  • Theft protection subject to terms and conditions

You remain responsible for:

  • Any insurance deductible amounts in case of damage or loss
  • Damage resulting from prohibited use or breach of these Terms
  • Loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle
  • Traffic violations, parking fines, and toll charges incurred during the rental period

9. Accidents and Damage

In the event of an accident, theft, or damage to the vehicle, you must:

  • Report the incident to local authorities and obtain a police report
  • Notify meridiaoes immediately, within 24 hours of the incident
  • Complete an accident report form provided by us
  • Not admit fault or make any statements beyond basic facts
  • Cooperate fully with any investigation or insurance claim process

Failure to follow these procedures may result in denial of insurance coverage and full liability for damages.

10. Vehicle Return

Vehicles must be returned:

  • At the agreed-upon date, time, and location
  • In the same condition as provided, accounting for normal wear and tear
  • With a full tank of fuel
  • With all provided equipment, accessories, and documentation

Late returns will incur additional charges calculated on an hourly or daily basis as applicable. Unauthorized late returns may be treated as theft and reported to authorities.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and in our materials, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of meridiaoes and protected by Singapore and international copyright laws. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission
  • Use our trademarks, service marks, or branding without authorization
  • Frame or mirror any part of our website

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Singapore law:

  • meridiaoes's total liability for any claims arising from or related to your use of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific rental period in question
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are not liable for delays or failures in service delivery due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • We are not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal property left in the vehicle

This limitation does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be waived under Singapore law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless meridiaoes, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the vehicle, breach of these Terms, violation of any law or regulation, or infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your rental and reclaim the vehicle immediately if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms
  • We have reasonable grounds to believe the vehicle is being used improperly or illegally
  • Payment authorization fails or is disputed
  • You provide false or misleading information

In such cases, no refund will be provided, and you remain liable for all charges and damages.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. Both parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

16. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating any legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, either party may pursue formal legal remedies.

For consumer disputes, you may also contact the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) or the Small Claims Tribunals for assistance with resolution.

17. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal data is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). By using our services, you consent to such processing.

18. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the rental agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and meridiaoes regarding our services.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

Notice: Any notices required under these Terms should be sent to [email protected] or to our business address.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to our website. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notification to registered users
  • Prominent notice on our website
  • Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document

Your continued use of our services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. Reservations made before changes take effect will be governed by the Terms in effect at the time of booking.
